Bawal Plastikan

Bawal Plastikan is an interactive map spotlighting community-driven actions against plastic pollution nationwide. By showcasing local initiatives, the platform demonstrates the transformative power of single-use plastic bans and regulations, inspiring more communities, businesses, and local governments to join the movement and advocate for national legislation to phase out single-use plastics.

The name Bawal Plastikan—literally translating to “no pretending”—reflects the call for genuine, inclusive efforts toward sustainable production, responsible consumption, and a circular economy that benefits all Filipinos.

We encourage Filipinos to contribute by sharing details of local government ordinances, programs, and initiatives aimed at reducing single-use plastics. Businesses are also invited to participate by highlighting their efforts to regulate, reduce, recover, reuse, and recycle plastics, as well as their compliance with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programs under the EPR Act of 2022.
