A tribute to GLOF survivors in Pakistan

by Noor Ul Huda | Pakistan

From the skyhigh peaks, torrents flow
Melting down all the glacier’s snow
In the valley deepdown, where life cherished
Now everyone is struggling to barely survive
They lost their homes in one night
Scared are they of the nature’s plight
Water drowned the valley today
Sweeping the hopes and dreams away
Hearts burdenized with trauma and fear
The future of survivors seems dim and unclear
Yet in the echoes of these melting peaks,
It is hope that they all seek.
