RewriteCOP > What is the state of play on key COP28 issues? > A Night Owl by Sebastian Delgado, dps
An owl hoots
Behind a shadow of a skeleton-tree.
From a black box speaker, a horse neigh.
When a bird squawk,
Triggers a program on forestry.
For leftovers, a piece of carrot,
a rotting tomato.
A newly ripe green banana together
With a brownish apple
Leaning on piled-up sheets
Of overdue bill pays that have been resting
On a mahogany-round table.
A forest fire is in a close-up.
When a bird watches, it chirps
Once, twice or thrice
Depending on what is on an unboxed screen.
When a sudden strong wind blow,
A MaMag Malayang Magasin—
Commander Phil on frontpage—
Taps the entirety
Of the only window near the Sala.
When a same skeleton-tree shakes
A same bird screech away, far away.
